P.A.D.S.
Purton amateur dramatic society
Purton Amateur Dramatic Society (PADS) is based in the village of Purton, Wiltshire. Each year, around February, we produce a pantomime and sometime during the year we also put on a play, usually in the spring or autumn. We are also involved in various other projects on an ad hoc basis.
Most of our productions are “bought in” from commercial agents but over the years quite a few of our pantomimes and sketches have been written by members of the society.
Recent productions include:
Trouble in Fairyland -
Pull The Other One -
Fund Raising Murder Mystery -
Sinbad The Sailor -
The Government Inspector -
Way Out Western -
PADS is 40 years old this year, 2014. There are many more productions stretching further back over the years.
WHY NOT JOIN US!!
We are always pleased to welcome new members to PADS. So if you fancy putting on a funny outfit and treading the boards, why not get in touch with us. If you don’t feel too confident but just want to give it a try, start off in the chorus.
Of course it isn’t just getting up on the stage. We also need backstage crew, lighting and sound engineers, make up artistes, set builders, bar staff, costume makers etc. So there’s always plenty to get involved in.
As an actor you would be required to attend rehearsals twice a week on Tuesdays and
Thursdays. There would also be a need to come along to dress rehearsals as the production
date draws near. As backstage crew etc. it would only be necessary to come along
as the production approaches and for dress rehearsals. Set building, (no skills
necessary) takes place on 3-
THERE IS NO JOINING FEE NOR ARE THERE ANY SUBSCRIPTIONS TO PAY. SO IF WE’VE TEMPTED YOU, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH. CONTACT DETAILS FOLLOW.
