PURTON AMATEUR DRAMATIC SOCIETY

Forthcoming Productions

WAR!! Has been declared!

2014 is, of course, the centenary of the outbreak of World War 1. Purton Amateur Dramatic Society will be involved in the village commemoration of one of the most history-making events of the 20th century.

We will be putting on a series of playlets which will take place at various locations within the village of Purton. These locations will be - the green adjacent to the doctor’s surgery and the old workhouse, Play Close, the green adjacent to the public tennis courts, finishing at The Village Hall.

The theme will be that of a recruitment drive just after the outbreak of the war and will take place on Sunday 7th  September 2014. We will be hoping for audience participation and members of the public will be encouraged to dress in appropriate outfits.

Details will be on posters and boards throughout the village, also Purton Parish Magazine.

Your village needs you!!

PANTOMIME 2015

Our next pantomime will be “King Arthur” chosen by directors Lyndsey Hall and Kate Bath. So it’s back to the days of chivalry, swords in stone and round tables. Loads of characters and not one, but two pantomime animals.

SPRING PLAY

The Spring play will be something very different for PADS. A  Greek comedy, brought up us by director Olly Webb. It’s called “The Knights” it’s by Aristophenes and was written in 424BC. So it’s actually older than some of the cast.

The King’s advisor is hated by everyone so it’s decided to replace him with a sausage seller. The writer was known as The King of Old Comedy and it’s filled with farce, slapstick, rampaging knights and - sausages.

PADS production are advertised in Purton Parish Magazine, on posters and chalkboards throughout the village as a production draws near.
